How it all started…

A little back story on my life real quick: I didn’t grow up going to church but I became a believer just shy of 2 years now and boy let me tell you, best decision I’ve ever made. My faith grew pretty rapidly in the first few months as a believer and in that time, the Lord called me to go to Guatemala for a month. I was not too sure if that was a good idea or not considering I had only been growing in faith for about 3 months at the time and I had pretty much no clue what I was talking about. So I prayed about it and it felt like it was the right decision so I applied to the program and got in on the spot. Then I started fundraising and in the first month and a half, I was fully funded, that was pretty good security that I was following what the Lord wanted me to do. So Last summer I went on my first mission trip, 30(ish) days with complete strangers in a different country. It might sound scary but it was the best month of my life. I saw so much beauty out of so much pain and brokenness, the Lord performed miracles right in front of our eyes, many people gave their life to Jesus and it was the first time I had ever experienced spiritual warfare. (If you know me then you know it really hasn’t stopped there. lol.)  On the trip, I fell in love with life as a missionary and I knew I would do more in the future, I just wasn’t sure what. When the time came I was so not ready to leave, but a year ago today I was coming home changed and so ready to share what I learned about and grew in for the last month. I came home knowing I was hungry for more but I didn’t know what the future looked like. I learned a lot about world race gap year from my leaders in Guate who had done it and I said it was something I would look into. I didn’t really want to take a whole year before college because then I would be behind in school and it would mess up MY plans for the future. Yeah well the lord had other plans for me because here I am going on world race gap year. I’m not sure where I am going yet, I’ll let you know in September, but I am beyond excited. Please, please, please, support me on this journey, spiritually through prayers and encouragement and also financially as I prepare to leave for 9 months. You guys are awesome and I love you all!

P.S. you can subscribe to my blog and get updates when I post. It’d be cool. Also, text me if you have questions or want to know more about what exactly the world race is!
